Mt. Hood Community College
Client: Mt. Hood Community College, Gresham, Oregon. Served as group editor on a two-year National Science Foundation project, collaborating with the college's natural resources instructors to develop, write and publish a curriculum integration process, Guidelines for Developing a Watershed Learning Environment to Educate Natural Resources Technicians.
Clients: The Natural Resources Conservation Service and the East Multnomah Soil and Water Conservation Service
Clients: The Natural Resources Conservation Service and the East Multnomah Soil and Water Conservation Service, Portland, Oregon. Researched, wrote and illustrated a citizen-friendly manual of enhancement techniques for improving streamside forests and water quality, working with a regional technical advisory committee of stewardship agency stakeholders.
Client: Metro Parks & Greenspaces
Client: Metro Parks & Greenspaces, Portland, Oregon. ClearWater West coordinated with Metro’s regional technical advisory committee and researched and wrote a 14-chapter manual, Green Trails, about water- and wildlife-friendly methods for planning, siting, constructing and maintaining trails.
City of Portland's Public Works and Facilities
Client: City of Portland's Public Works and Facilities, Portland, OR. ClearWater West’s principal, Marty Mitchell, observed the field activities of some 36 crews to develop hundreds of sets of BMPs for preventing water and air pollution during maintenance of Portland’s public works and facilities. She conducted a nationwide search to find, evaluate and tailor pollution prevention practices for the city’s operations, equipment and materials.
Plumas National Forest
Client: Plumas National Forest, Quincy, California. Reviewed the literature on unsurfaced roads nationwide to develop water resource and wildlife protection BMPs for a handbook that was widely distributed in Latin America by USAID and the USDA Forest Service.
  Client: City of Wilsonville, Oregon, Natural Resources Division. Revised the city’s erosion control ordinance to make it consistent with new regulations concerning sensitive lands, tree preservation and protection of anadromous fish and their habitats.
 

Client: Stormwater Committee, Oregon Chapter of the Association of Clean Water Agencies. Pro Bono. Edited the western Portland metropolitan region’s erosion control manual to re-purpose it for a field inspector’s pocket guide. Prepared an additional chapter on pollution prevention.

 

Client: Vicki Lind, career counselor and marketing coach, Portland, Oregon. Copyedited Ms. Lind’s 2009 edition of How to Find a Job Worth Having: For Creatives and People Who Want to Make a Difference.
