Services: Technical Consulting
You are challenged to manage greenspaces to protect wildlife and water quality while meeting the public’s recreation needs. You need project designs and facilities to be compatible with your organization's maintenance and public safety needs and you want to comply with environmental protection requirements. And, you want cost-effective solutions that can be carried out with the materials, personnel and equipment at hand. This is a tall order and you want to work with a consultant who can support these needs.

I’ll work with you to create the interdisciplinary collaboration required to arrive at water-quality friendly site conceptual designs and management programs that work for you and for the regulator. I’ll explore solutions with your in-house experts and work with interdisciplinary groups and permitters to develop approaches that fit with your operations. As a team, we’ll develop workable solutions. I’ll also prepare guidance handbooks and other support materials for implementation personnel.

Client: KPFF Consulting Engineers, Portland, Oregon. Evaluated snow management at Government Camp ski resort area and developed methods to halt the degradation of wetlands, streams and steelhead habitats from pollution by runoff of stormwater and sanding grits from stockpiled snow. |

Client: Metro Parks & Greenspaces. Studied the geomorphic history of the Sandy River and recreation and riverbank erosion at Oxbow Regional Park to develop recommendations for shoreline management in the park. |

Clients: Alta Transportation, Portland, Oregon. Evaluated erosion, identified water quality impacts and prescribed BMPs for the Government Camp trail system master plan, working collaboratively with the consultant team, ODOT, the US Forest Service, citizen and industry groups. |
Clients: Portland Development Commission, Planning Department and GreenWorks, Portland, Oregon. Coordinated among five consulting firms during three years to devise The Willamette Riverbank Design Notebook, a manual of fish and water-quality friendly riverbank redevelopment concepts for the Portland Harbor. Developed riverbank and near-shore geomorphic assessment methods, water quality protection concepts, and researched river and shoreline development history, policies & regulations. |

| Client: Harris Stream Services, West Linn, Oregon. Collaborated on watershed assessment and restoration strategy for Springbrook Creek and copyedited the white paper on this topic prior to submittal to The Lake Corp. | |
