  • Merit Award for Research and Communications. 2000. Presented by the American Society of Landscape Architects, Oregon Chapter. ClearWater West worked with four other firms to develop The Willamette Riverbank Design Notebook, a menu of fish- and water-quality-friendly BMPs for redevelopment of the Willamette River’s banks. Also received Honor Award in 2002 for the same work at the national level of the same organization.
  • Outstanding Associate Director. Presented by the Oregon Association of Conservation Districts for research, design and publication of a how-to manual on natural area restoration. 2000.
  • Best News Series, Presented by the collegiate division of the Oregon Newspaper Publishers Association. 1999.
  • First Class Award, for outstanding achievement, dedication and attitude on the Mt. Hood Community College publications staff during. 1999.
  • Rising to the Challenge. Presented by the Siskiyou National Forest for work with southern Oregon watersheds. 1995.
  • Volunteer of the Year. Presented by The Nature Conservancy for managing the Oregon Field Office’s maps, aerial photographs, cartography production and technical input on erosion. 1988.
  • Congressional Commendation. Presented by the California Senate for managing research, writing and development of a museum-quality Presentation on the culture of Basque nomadic sheepherders in the northern Sierra Nevada in the early 19th Century. This work was funded by a grant from the National Endowment for the Humanities, through the California Arts Commission, the Plumas County, California Museum and Feather River College, California. 1985.
  • Phi Kappa Phi. On dean’s list every semester after the freshman year, including graduate school.
